UPAC Convention

Hi,

Well, this is my first post on this forum as I was just activated last night ;) Thanks

So, I just got back from the UPAC convention at Lubitz field and I wanted to let all those that have not yet gone to CHECK IT OUT tomorrow if you can :D

I got to meet Trevor, Frank, TJ, Ed Lubitz & lots of other very friendly people.

All the volunteers have done a FABULOUS job preparing and setting everything up. It is a beautiful location and (other than the weather) everything seemed to go very smoothly.

They had a pig roast for lunch (which unfortunately I missed), different educational workshops such as "weight and balance", "fabric covering" & "introduction to Trikes". Then there was a fun movies that played in the hanger and even a LIVE BAND (Two Steps and the Law) that was FANTASTIC! All the while people were socializing, & talking about their planes, and there was even BBQ hot dogs and hamburgers.

I don't think I will be able to make it tomorrow, but it looks like the gang has things planned for tomorrow as well :eek:

It was obvious that A LOT of hard work and organization went into this convention and, judging by the turnout on a rainy/foggy saturday I would say it was a BIG success!

Congratulation and thanks to the volunteers for being so friendly and hospitable :cool:

Couldn't agree more, Razzy.

I made it clear to those I met that I was only a wannabe seeking info. I got every question I asked answered, and more! Even though I came alone, I found that everyone I talked to so friendly and informative that I felt at home right away. Can't wait to start flying with some of you.

The weather. If there was only some sort of a petition to sign......Glad I came on the friday, perfect weather then! Then came rain....then wind....Ah well, had a good time anyways. Just to echo the above comments, the convention was well run and well organized. If you didn't come out this time, don't miss the next one!

Glad to hear you guys had a great time! It was nice to see Matt again and meet a bunch of new people. Talking about planes and computers is my favourite pastime especially when I meet new people.
Yeah, the weather was a bit of a let-down (I did manage to go flying for 40 minutes Friday night though) but hey, people really enjoyed themselves which is what counts.
Every year it gets better and we'll be discussing at the next board meeting how things went and what we can improve. We already have some ideas!

Some people however could not make it not because of the weather but mechanical problems. 3 pictures we uploaded to the gallery section today that don't need any explanation. Go have a look!
