any suggestions.... I need to rebuild wings and will have to get other pieces....

I went to a lumber milling (sawmill) that produces finished pieces for railings, trim and so on.
After telling them what I needed, including type of grain runout, they milled all the Douglas Fir material right down to even the thin spar caps.
Yes, it can be a tad expensive but it sure beats renting or buying equipment yourself and then screwing up some material for lack of the expertise one would need.

what kind of wood did buy ?

Douglas Fir.
I am using T88 expoxy as the adhesive.

Thanks Bill, were your spars built with douglas fir plywood ?

Not plywood John, just the regular Douglas Fir.
This wood was ripped then milled to my specs with a nice run out of grain.
Very stronge.
For plywood I used regular aircraft grade birch for skinning the D tube etc.
I did learn of another place which makes stuff like this, as too of individuals who make their own, but for my application there was no savings to be realized.
