Aircraft Insurance, Posted 04-01-2011, 10:17 AM #2
The events of Sun & Fun Airshow demonstrate the value of "Hull not in motion" insurance. Two years about a "micro burst" visited Rockcliff Airport with similar results.
Insurance co. should offer reduced premiums for aircraft that are stored in hangars.

Sad day for a lot of hard-working homebuilders

I as just logging on to the UPAC forum to post the same link CIDUS and you beat me too it!

I think (in fact I'm pretty sure) I saw Zenair's 750 demonstrator in the wreckage. Yellow with blue stripes.

. . . unbelievable. That's gotta be the worst on record for this event.

God . . . I just watched it again. So many shattered dreams for a lot of owners.

That was so bad.

Zenith lost a CH801 (Blue & White) and the CH750 (Yellow & Blue). The CH650 was untouched, as was the CH701 on amphibs. floats. If you look close the CH650 and CH701 on floats were tied down with "The Claw" system...ordered mine today from Aircraft Spruce. The really tough one is the CH701 folded up and flipped on top of the jet... "$1,000,000 liability" don't go far repairing a jet...or paying for it !
